Electronic media could be used to describe any medium that employs electromechanical means to deliver information to an audience.

As far as online journalism goes, most media houses today have an online presence. They employ web professionals for the upkeep of their websites.

Becoming an online journalist is not very different from becoming a journalist for any other medium.

Most mass communication courses offer modules in online journalism. The completion of such a course could help media students find a job with news websites and content writing and editing firms.

Another way to get started in online journalism could be to approach websites for trainee or internship openings. Some websites can also offer full-time jobs straightaway to candidates, depending on their requirement.

The salaries for beginners in web tend to be at par with what freshers earn in other varieties of journalism. However, the top websites will offer you better pay.
