Position: Editor - Discover India, India 's premium travel and culture magazine. (Launched in 1988).

Job Role:
-Write articles on India's philosophy, history, culture, architecture, fashion, art and folklore in both the ancient and modern context.
- Planning issues, generating content and leading a team of editors and reporters, freelancers and creative designers for bringing out the final products as per the print schedule.
- Assigning work to reporters & freelancers.
- Responsible for co-ordinating with the Advertising & Marketing departments and suggest ideas for promotion of the product.
- Conceptualise the cover page of the magazine.
- Liaising with the art department for appropriate page layouts –helping the designer to select the right colour schemes, placement of pictures, etc.
- Editing & Proof reading various write-ups including articles, interviews etc written by various professionals.
- Giving suitable titles/headlines to the write-ups.
- Network with travel industry professionals and interact with various state and central ministries of tourism.

Compensation is not an issue.

Travel writers needed

A travel magazine is looking for original travel and travel-related content / articles preferably with digital photographs (without copyright infringement). On publishing, the author will get credit (author's name), photo in the published article and an honorarium. We request the prospecting author to send us (1) a sample of about 300-400 words written to vidzword@gmail.com so that we can understand the author's style of writing. Please send only as an attached word doc and of max 400 words length. (2) along with a list of articles the author will be able to contribute (the author may add to the list later).
