Brief: The journalists in the News editorial team will be responsible for writing financial news content, covering the international markets & creating daily routine items.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the accuracy, relevancy and timeliness of his/her output. S/he should have had experience in financial journalism. S/he would report to the Team Leader of the editorial team. Strong English language skills are essential.
Position: Journalist
Responsibilities:
* To produce high quality news content as per the defined parameters for timelines, quality, accuracy and completeness.
* Work as per the tasks assigned by the Team Leader
* Add editorial value to the content, such that it becomes more relevant to the client's customers.
* Use appropriate language skills to understand and source financial information
* Adherence to content editorial policies and procedures
* Use available tools to the best advantage.
* Escalate issues/risks to the Team Leader as appropriate
Required Skills:
* 1+ years of financial journalism/ editorial experience with a reputed firm
* Exposure to financial domain (capital markets, investment banking, investment management) – especially on Financial content.
* Strong computer skills – Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Powerpoint)
* Excellent writing and editing skills (English language)
* Good team player who is highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to work efficiently to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
* Good educational background.
* Ability to generate ideas to improve the effectiveness/relevancy of the news content
* Detail-orientation: good copyediting skills as well as being able to follow and understand the numbers through a report.
* Willingness to work in different shifts < br />
Skills
* Additional post graduation degrees/ diplomas – MBA, CFA, CA, other financial qualifications (e.g NYSE Series 16, Series 7)
* Exposure and experience in editing/writing for U.S./ International media
Educational degree in business journalism or related fields
Education and Experience:
* Bachelors’ Degree in finance or business
* 1+ year of financial journalism/editorial experience
* 1-3 years of overall work experience
* Strong English language skills are! essential
