The BBC is hiring

BBC Monitoring, headquartered in the south of England, monitors open source foreign media from over 150 countries throughout the world in more than 70 languages.

They are recruiting Monitoring Journalists for Persian Language.

Location: BBC Monitoring Bureau, New Delhi. Or you may be working from home as an Independent contractor (depending on individual discussion).

Job Description: Working in line with customer needs, you will select news and information from open source material in Persian (Farsi).

You will translate, edit and write copy accurately and quickly using clear idiomatic English. The role also includes shift work. Candidates based anywhere in India will be considered and offered competitive pay and outstanding training opportunities.

The ideal candidate will have excellent knowledge of international affairs especially in relation to Iran and the Middle East and will be educated to degree level or equivalent. They must also have excellent Persian and English with proven translation skills.
